St.John NCL excursions

We will be coming in on NCl and see 2 excursions from NCL: “Beach day” and “on your own”. They both get you on a private ferry to Cruz bay. The beach day excursion puts you on a Safari type vehicle to Trunk Bay. It’s a lot more money. I’m thinking we could do the on your own excursion and just get a taxi to trunk bay. Should be way less. Anyone have experience with these options?

Usually the beach day excursions provide chairs and other amenities that you have to pay for on your own. Does the excursion offer something other than RT transportation?

All it says is private ferrry, Safari like vehicle through the park. Maybe they consider that part like a tour:

In any case it seems awfully expensive.

There is only one way to get to Trunk whether private or public safari, and that's through the National Park. It doesn't look like they're providing anything extra, but everything is getting more expensive.

I haven't seen anybody post the current round trip cost of getting to Trunk from both cruise docks since the taxi fare increase, but it would be helpful if someone posted the current calculations. That would help you make a decision, I think.
