How can I ensure I get double the loyalty points

Recommended Posts

Side note that doesn't have to do with points but bills.

When you get onboard and swap rooms all you are really doing is getting additional keys to the other rooms.  Your name will still be attached to the other room and anything your charge to your card and gratuities will be charged to the room you are booked in.  Guest services cannot change this.  All they can do it make it so you can see the charges from the other room.  So the person in the room with you on the booking will be able to see all the charges you make and you will have to make arrangements with each other to pay/split the bill...

Each person in a cabin can have a different payment method setup, so there is no need to make arrangements with each other.  They won't see charges for someone paying with a different payment method.

We always have at least two rooms book and move people around in rooms (kids, non-drinkers etc., and on the ship tv you can see all the charges from people originally booked in the room.  Not on the app though, just the tv.  We've also had different payment methods twice and both times there was issues, but maybe that is just bad luck on our part.

I had someone ask if switching rooms (but not amending the paperwork prior to boarding the ship) would get double points... I asked them, "If you boarded the ship and let every person on your deck sleep in your junior suite, do you think they should all get double points because you crammed them into your junior suite?"  They finally understood the difference between what the paperwork says and your freedom to let someone sleep in the room after that question, so I post it here in the hopes that the original poster "gets it".

If your husband is in the JS he will get the points along with your friend..you will not get the points but when you travel agin he will be ahead of you by the number of points he got for the doubled points but they match his status..just not the points..so in all probability he will be D+ sooner but you will get the perks when you are with him

If you link the two accounts, both people get the loyality perks no matter if they sail together or not.

Not necessarily a moot point for shared status IF one partner has more actual points than the other.  You want the higher (actual) points person to get the most points.  Example:  Wife has 66 points, husband has 20 actual points.  You want the wife booked in the JS for a 7 day cruise.

Yes.  So figure this out BEFORE you book. 🙂

And, and just because, you do NOT get double points for a suite.  You get one extra point per night.

One point per night for sailing.

Plus one point per night for suite

Plus one point per night for solo.

Maximum 3 points per night per person.
