Got a cabin next to the glass elevator.  Will I be hearing the ding when the elevators arrive on our deck?

I had 8068 on the Westerdam, which is right next to the glass elevator, and never heard a thing. I had that cabin 2 years in a row and all was fine.

Wife and I enjoy those rooms, been in them on all four vista ships and had no issues. Great location and easy to find.

Only issue, but not a big one is privacy on the balcony.

Not the glass elevators but we were in 7101 recently -- the door to the cabin is "behind" the aft elevators basically.  Yes, we heard dings regularly but they were not really loud and frankly I tuned them out most of the time.

There's no dings I'm aware of.  Elevator says "deck 5, Gershwin deck"

That’s great to know. We will be in ome  of the 4th floor obstructed view cabins (Zuiderdam)right next to the glass elevators. I prefer being near elevators.

Another thing to consider is that the mid-ship elevators directly look out on the balconies of the adjacent cabins on Vista-class ships.  Whenever we take those elevators we comment on how bad those cabins must be since you have no privacy on your balcony.

Thanks for the heads up. Fortunately that doesn’t bother me.
