Rare CanadianBurger Posted December 12, 2023 Author #52 Share Posted December 12, 2023 Docked beside the Crystal Serenity. Last year in St. Kitts, I had a Carib lemon radler, and loved it. I went ashore in search of it, but nobody has had it in months. Hoping to find it in Grenada.

deja moo Posted December 12, 2023 #55 Share Posted December 12, 2023 I was on the previous Emerald cruise and be prepared to hear a subwoofer blasting at 7:00am from the port at Trinidad if you are on the port side. I was not a happy camper hearing that all day. The rest of the cruise was great.

I was in Emerald 425 and this was directly out from my cabin maybe 75 feet. 2023-12-03 08.51.31.mov
Rare CanadianBurger Posted December 13, 2023 Author #58 Share Posted December 13, 2023 MDR Dinner tonight was another hit. I cannot express enough how wonderful Head Waiter Magdelena, waiter Armando, and junior waiter Chelsey are. I had the pork loin and it was excellent.
Rare CanadianBurger Posted December 13, 2023 Author #59 Share Posted December 13, 2023 Desserts, again, were amazing. The mousse tart was especially good.
Rare CanadianBurger Posted December 13, 2023 Author #60 Share Posted December 13, 2023 The show in the theatre tonight was something so unique, I’ve never seen anything like it on a cruise before. The artist creates works of art out of sand, live on a backlit glass sandbox, with an overhead camera projecting on the screen for the audience. It’s a husband/wife team, with the husband doing the music. Here’s a snippet. Her talent is amazing, and it’s almost sad when she wipes it away for a new scene. I doubt there’s anything free. The other tournaments, like blackjack, have an entry fee of $20.

Rare CanadianBurger Posted December 15, 2023 Author #68 Share Posted December 15, 2023 We arrived in Guadeloupe to sun and a rainbow.
Rare CanadianBurger Posted December 15, 2023 Author #69 Share Posted December 15, 2023 We and another couple booked a private tour of Guadeloupe with Karine from Kio Tours Guadeloupe and she was fantastic. She’s a French lady who came to Guadeloupe eight years ago, and gave us an excellent tour. First stop was Longueteau Rhum Agricole de la Guadeloupe, a smaller distillery not visited by ship tours. We toured the beautiful grounds, and of course, had a tasting. 1

Rare CanadianBurger Posted December 15, 2023 Author #71 Share Posted December 15, 2023 Then on to one of the highlights of the tour, La Maison du Cacao, where we learned about the production of chocolate, and got to sample all the steps of the production process, as well as the liquid chocolate drink the Aztecs enjoyed. Definitely a must-see, but the English presentations are limited, so check ahead.
Rare CanadianBurger Posted December 15, 2023 Author #72 Share Posted December 15, 2023 After purchasing some cocoa, it was off to a waterfall and river that we could wade into. Then it was back to the ship. A very nice tour with a great guide. 2
Rare CanadianBurger Posted December 15, 2023 Author #73 Share Posted December 15, 2023 We used one of our two casual dining credits for planks this evening. The potato chowder was amazing. The pulled pork, pulled chicken, and smoked sausages were excellent, but I found the brisket a bit lacking, with far too much fat. Great sauce, as always. Rare CanadianBurger Posted December 15, 2023 Author #74 Share Posted December 15, 2023 On to Martinique this morning. Patter for the day coming later. We booked a private north island tour with Beyond the Beach for the day. Our guide, Stefané, was fantastic. Our first stop was the old Sacre Cœur Church.
Rare CanadianBurger Posted December 15, 2023 Author #75 Share Posted December 15, 2023 Next it was through the mountains across the island into the rainforest on a wonderful road of switchbacks and hairpins. I wish the road was one-way and I could drive it in my car. We could spy the Enchanted, also in port for the day.
