cruzadict Posted December 19, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 19, 2023 We are about to book QV for Xmas 2024 in an aft Queens Grill. Can anyone tell me which deck would they prefer between deck 5 and deck 8. Many thanks. Such lovely decisions
cruzadict Posted December 19, 2023 Author #2 Share Posted December 19, 2023 Oh and corner suite or middle suite.
majortom10 Posted December 19, 2023 #3 Share Posted December 19, 2023 (edited) We were on deck 4 aft in Q5 corner suite and the noise and vibration and would never book a suite aft again. We had other issues that ended up with us moving suites half way through the cruise. Edited December 19, 2023 by majortom10
Rare Pushpit Posted December 19, 2023 #4 Share Posted December 19, 2023 Deck 8 middle, would be my reluctant preference. My usual take is that you can over-analyse deck positioning and "is this above x or below y?" and the chances are it's only a small difference: the staterooms and suites are all good really. However if it's right at aft, as the QG suites are, then you need to be aware of the noise and churn of water directly below you, so further away is best. It probably makes a difference if most of the cruise is gently ambling between closeby ports as opposed to going full pelt over the North Sea for 24 hours. BigMac1953 Posted December 19, 2023 #5 Share Posted December 19, 2023 Had QG on Deck 8 stern at least a dozen times. Never had a problem. Never heard "churn of water". You do hear the stewards put out the loungers around 7:00am, but as we're early risers, it doesn't bother us.

Vibrations were def. felt in July when head hit pillow when in very lively seas [but not in May in benign seas] but not enough to keep us awake.
