Yay! The current offering certainly isn't fit for purpose.

Depends on your purpose. I found, on the recent Caribbean cruise, that the free wifi in all the public rooms and in my cabin was pretty good. I could download all the daily papers and library books and podcasts without problem, , upload a nightly blog with dozens of photos, make very clear What’s app voice calls to family in UK and friends on SoA and the usual emails and utilities business. I’d expected poor wifi on the ship from all I had read but was much impressed. This was true right across the Atlantic and back.  I didn’t try downloading films, Zoom etc as I didn’t need to.

( I have ultrafast broadband at home )

Just off, today, the SoA after Xmas cruise and the WiFi was fine

Me thinks you knock Saga at the slightest excuse

Hi all live from S o D and using the WiFi . Seems good enough to me. And btw the satellite tv offering seems much better than our last trip 2 yrs ago. And need it today as sea conditions and weather poor.

We are just back from that trip, The onboard was Wi Fi system was Star link and in my experience it was poor, Ok for WhatsApp etc but no chance of downloading you tube or even Apple Music. Not really complaining as it was included in the price whereas other cruise lines would charge a fortune for the same poor service. We need to remember that any connections at sea are not going to be comparable to land but I was expecting more from Star link as it is a satellite connection.

No, just the wifi & the fact the food isn't as good as on the old ships.

It kept giving me an error. The ORCA people were getting the same error. There was definitely something wrong with it.

I wasn't trying to stream anything and certainly not make WhatsApp calls as I was told many cruises ago that isn't allowed. It was 4th time on SoA and nearly full as opposed to the earlier cruises. I just assumed it couldn't cope with an almost full ship.
