Six ships at Port Zante at the same time, will it be too busy to enjoy?

Currently deciding between two cruises, and one unique port is St. Kitts.

 

I checked the schedule, and they're expecting 6 ships on the day we'd be in port, with a combined capacity of about 10,000 passengers. We'll be docked from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and I haven't even started to look at excursions yet, but how much of an impact will it make to have that many other people there?

The impact will be great, with the masses heading for their usual haunts.

Take a tour, not a ship one, and see the island properly.
If wishing a beach, then avoid all the usual S.H.T. beach destinations (will be rammed) and take a day pass at the Marriott or head to Nevis with https://bluewatersafaris.com/tour/nevis-beach-getaway/., then walk a short way down the beach to Sunshine’s to be brave with a few Killer Bees.

Better get on Resorts for a Day.com ASAP and see if you can purchase a day room at the St.Kitts Marriott Resort. I was there with 4 ships in port in Dec. 2018 and it was packed.
