wheelchair over gangway?

I asked a similar question on the Disabled board and on Antigua board, but this one is specific to St Lucia.

We will be in Castries on Enchanted Princess and I wonder what the gangway can look like. If it is steep and/or with stairs, would the crew still be able to provide wheelchair assistance? Without manually lifting, just pushing the wheelchair? Thanks for your help.

The gangway is the same throughout the cruise. It's provided by the cruise line. It'll be bumpy with very shallow steps. You'll have to be lifted or have a rough ride down/up.

It is not all that steep, but it's not flat or smooth.

They'll push you, if you want, it'll be a bit rough but not unmanageable.

Wheelchair users visit St Lucia on every sailing, no problem.

Enjoy.

I just found a gangway image here:

scroll down to see the gangway

So it looks like there are both smooth and shallow-steps options

Yeah, that's what I was trying to describe. Even the "smooth" side will be somewhat bumpy as the slats aren't perfectly aligned - they're a touch offset, and the tread on them, along with the gaps makes a bit rough.

Very doable though.
