Ateve1973 Posted January 23 #1 Share Posted January 23 Hi - i recently got back from a royal caribbean cruise and prior to leaving was awarded some complimentary cruise vouchers from casino royale. Whilst on the cruise ship I paid $200 to secure a next cruise book later so that I would be able to get the freeplay offered. Since getting back to UK I have called casino royale and they have told me that the next cruise voucher is allocated to a TA “cruise.co.uk” so the TA needs to make the booking. Royal caribbean have told me that they cannot move the booking back to them and that the TA needs to send them a request form. The problem is that the TA is not very responsive and having spoken to them they do not know what to do and seem to have no interest in helping. Has anyone else had this problem or have any tips on how i can get this booking back to royal caribbean so i can book the offers direct through casino royale? Huge thanks in advance for any advice!! Welcome to CC. You'll have to prove to RCI that the TA is unresponsive or ask the TA to return the booking to RCI.
Ateve1973 Posted January 23 Author #3 Share Posted January 23 Thanks, how can I prove to Royal that the TA are unresponsive? I have called the TA 3 times, spent hours on hold, been passed from department to department and spoke with someone today who is supposedly in the right department who had no idea what to do. They said they would speak to a supervisor and call me back but they have not rung. I have also emailed them with no response. Would this be enough for Royal to take control. Thanks for your advice! Maybe - some reports indicate that RCI may contact the TA directly to ascertain the issue (once you claim they are unresponsive). As mentioned, you can also ask the TA to simply pass the booking to RCI. Edited January 23 by Biker19
Noskill Posted January 23 #5 Share Posted January 23 When I ran into this issue, Club Royale had me email agencychanges@rccl.com to request releasing the reservation from my TA. I included the Next Cruise reservation number, my name, C&A # and a brief explanation of the situation. They released it within a couple of days and I finished the booking with the casino. Ateve1973 Posted January 23 Author #6 Share Posted January 23 Thanks for that, casino royale also advised me to do the same but after emailing agencychanges I got an email response to say that they cannot get the booking released and that the TA needs to do it. Unfortunately the TA company I used in the UK are not that responsive and dont seem to know what to do. Maybe I will call Royal Caribbean and see if I can speak to a manager to try and get this resolved.
Noskill Posted January 23 #7 Share Posted January 23 Sorry to hear that. Hope you get it resolved soon. Doesn't help now but next time you can have the folks at Next Cruise release the TA while you're making the Book Later reservation (assuming you're doing it in person and not on the app). All we had to do was sign an additional sheet of paper and they took care of the rest.
Ateve1973 Posted January 23 Author #8 Share Posted January 23 Thank you! I wish the next cruise booker on the ship had asked me and given me the option. It’s frustrating as I asked them twice whether I just book direct with Royal Caribbean and on both occasions they said yes I can book direct with casino royale and the $200 will come off port fees etc. Hoping I can get it resolved asap so as not to lose the additional freeplay included with the cruise certificate. Will update on this forum with progress
