Radiance of the Seas Alaska Interior Express Cruisetour

I am planning to do the Radiance of the Seas Northbound Alaska 7 days cruise this summer. I am considering upgrading to the Cruise + Land Interior Express tour for another 3 days with Royal Caribbean 

I wanted to ask experienced travelers if it is worth it to Hire a Car and Do it yourself or take the Cruise liners package. I am a first timer in Alaska and appreciate your inputs.
