Upgrade ever possible on board?

Wondering if it’s ever possible to get a stateroom upgrade on day of departure… maybe once on board?

Probably slim to no chance, but I could try by asking the right question to the right person perhaps? 😉🤔

During the restart we upgraded from an OVB to a Grand Suite by checking at guest services.   I have not heard anyone being able to do that for at least the last year.

Royal Up has taken over any inventory previously available for onboard upgrades.

The summer Alaskan cruises are sailing at capacity, so no upgrades at the check-in counter or on board.

The Royal Up bid denials seem to have moved to the day before sailing so there might be some possibility on board.

We were on Liberty on Sept 30 when it got rerouted to Canada instead of Bahamas (sucks considering I'm Canadian LOL).  Half the people cancelled.  We asked to pay for an upgrade when we got to the port and nope.  Heard a ton of other people asked for the same and no one was able to upgrade rooms.

Also we had bid on an upgrade.  It was denied a week before the cruises.  Nothing was reinstated and we knew at 6pm the day before the cruise left that we were being rerouted.

Remember seeing that on the news.....Sorry....that sucks!!!😌
