Bakery on the Vista.

I had breakfast at Barista most mornings on my cruise in October, sometimes including something from the Bakery. I liked it because it was calmer than the buffet. Occasionally, I'd pass through the buffet to pick up some fresh fruit on my way to Barista, where the morning fruit choice is limited. Coincidentally, when on Viking Ocean, I often had breakfast at Mamsen's in the forward lounge, again because it was calmer than the buffet.

We cruise many lines, and quite a few will duplicate many of their dinner items, served in the MDR, with similar items at their Lido.  So what?  They are simply giving passengers more options on where they choose to dine.  Princess Cruises has a venue on their ship called the International Cafe which is essentially a 24/7 bakery, snack, coffee drink venue.  At breakfast, a majority of what they have at the IC (i.e. donuts, pastries, etc) are also available in the ship's expansive Lido Buffet (and some items are also available at the MDR breakfast).  I guess Princess could close their very popular IC (which is on all their ships) and simply say, "you can get most of the same in the LIdo."  But the reality is that many folks (including moi) do not want to go to the buffet for breakfast and simply prefer the more laid back venue.  Why should O be any different?

Yes I agree that there are more options where to dine.

That is not at all my point. An enlarged area for Baristas is needed, with so many enjoying it. 

My point is there is no  need for a bakery, since it offers nothing new. 

Many here keep saying how much they enjoy the enlarged area. Agreed.

A bakery implies goods that differ from what is offered elsewhere. 

The number of times I have looked in for something different, I have not found anything new.

Again, I mention cakes, pastries, breads, buns etc, that differ from other venues.

Just like Aquamar, I expect menu items that are different from all other eateries on board and they ARE. Very different and very good. It is not an extension of the Terrace Buffet.

Surely  my point clear now.

And you continue to argue with those of us that have a different opinion of the bakery that we are wrong and your opinion is the only correct one. Each time someone post their enjoyment of the bakery you reply they are wrong because, in your opinion, it is a waste of space. I don't frequent the casino but there are many that do so, in my opinion, it is a waste of space but I would never argue with someone else that enjoys the casino and what it offers. During our 32 days on Vista, I found many items at the bakery which I did not find elsewhere on the ship and what I would expect to find in a bakery.

Unless I'm mistaken, wouldn't the Terrace Café only have those pastries because they get them from the bakery? Yes, some things are available in both places when Terrace Café is open (during their limited hours), but the bakery has many items available all day, which is a great option if you want something between dining times. I never saw beignets that were in the bakery, available in Terrace during my sailing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Not to mention the yummy beignets were a different flavor each day!!

Also a shame they missed the eclairs and different cheesecakes being offered.

Just had amazing eclair and apple beignet in Vista bakery. Added space around the corner from the wonderfully sized library is much better than the smaller baristas. Great use of space and flows nicely. I suppose it could get a bit crowded if it’s everyone’s thing but that’s with anything. Today no lines and I see them baking behind the counter.

Thanks to all who have reported on the offerings at the Bakery in Baristas on Vista. Sounds like a huge improvement on the baked goods available in the same venue on Riviera and I can't wait to try it in June 😃

What I liked is that you could get a light lunch without having to stand in a line.  Enjoyed the baked goods which were available at times when Terrance was closed.  It was air conditioned which was much appreciated when going through the Panama Canal, you could duck in, get a sweet, get cooled off and then head out on deck again to enjoy the view.
