Chips401 Posted February 14 #1 Share Posted February 14 Does anyone have any experience with taxis in the port at Barcelona? Trying to decide between taxi and a transfer with the ship.
Rare alserrod Posted February 14 #2 Share Posted February 14 Taxi without a doubt The service and price is regulated and can be controlled by the authorities if there is any problem There are more than enough At the airport there is a specific area for taxis but not for transfers. I invite you to consult this post I wrote https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2976917-transport-in-barcelona-taxi-metro-bus-etc-to-the-city-port-and-airport-all-information-and-questions/ 1
mapleleaves Posted February 14 #3 Share Posted February 14 A taxi to where .... the airport? We had a late flight so we didn't disembark until 9am. When we went to bfast at 7, there were loads of taxis available and 15-20 people in line. But at 9am there were probably 300 people in line waiting for taxis. A taxi would appear every 5 minutes or so. After an hour, we gave up. There was a private bus offering transfers to the airport so we did that.
Rare mskaufman Posted February 15 #4 Share Posted February 15 We have had success with taxis everywhere in Barcelona. Even at 4am on a Sunday there was no problem finding a taxi.
Rare Hlitner Posted February 17 #5 Share Posted February 17 Just a friendly warning about taxis and the port. While there are plenty of taxis in Barcelona, there can often be a taxi queue as your cruise terminal. Shuttle buses, depending on the price charged by the cruise ship, can involve an even longer queue. The problem is if you have thousands of folks all trying to get into town (or to the airport) at the same time, there is going to be congestion. Plan accordingly and allow for extra time. If you are planning on going to the airport for a fairly early flight it is often considered wise to try and arrange a private car transfer for no other reason than avoiding a potential long/slow taxi queue.
