liberty176 Posted February 16 #1 Share Posted February 16 Our family is sailing on the Nieuw Statendam this summer, booked as a single 24 night cruise. It's also sold in segments (10 or 14 nights). Day 10 is in Amsterdam, where a lot of pax will be getting off, and new ones will be getting on. We've done a b2b in the US, but we're technically on a single sailing with a single booking number for this cruise. 1) We arrive at 7am. Will we be able to get off the ship once it's cleared when we wish quickly/easily, or will we need to go through immigration and be processed with everyone who is disembarking? If it makes a difference, the last stop before Amsterdam is in the UK, with a sea day immediately before Amsterdam. 2) The ship leaves at 3pm. Obviously we'll be back with plenty of time, but will there be a significantly earlier than usual all aboard time since many pax will be embarking? Just wanting to plan if we would need to be back at 12pm vs 2pm or so. Thanks!
Gigi1977 Posted February 16 #2 Share Posted February 16 You should be given an ‘intransit’ card and may leave when the ship is cleared. When reboarding you will need that card and your ship card to reboard- there will be signs that says intransit guests. There will be an all aboard time just like any port and you must be onboard by then. Since it’s less than 30 days, you should not have to do the muster thing again - however last time we did this, we had to let the muster drill info run on tv before it would unlock. Amsterdam is a great city to visit on a turnaround day. 2

Agree with this. Our last b2b we did not have to check in to muster again but the TV did lock until we re-ran the video again.. Rare VMax1700 Posted February 16 #5 Share Posted February 16 The departure time is dictated by times for the locks sailing from Amsterdam, and distance to the nect port. Our April cruise departs Rotterdam at 3pm too. There are no formalities when disembarking at Amsterdam cruise terminal and it is quite close to the city centre. Centraal (train) station is within comfortable walking distance (beware of trams and bicycles!). Be sure to check the 'All Aboard" time for returning pax, but the rush of incoming new guests should be well ended by the time you return to the ship. Enjoy your day! 1
CT D&N Posted February 16 #6 Share Posted February 16 We did this last year and it was as others described above. The only thing I'd note is that for reboarding the intransit card allowed us to bypass checkin but you'll still go through security along with everyone else. The security lines were long and a little chaotic (hopefully that was just for our sailing). Enjoy and have a great cruise!
liberty176 Posted February 16 Author #7 Share Posted February 16 Perfect, thanks so much! Sounds like we'll definitely have time for a museum and a chance to walk around. We'll be ending again in Amsterdam and have more time then, but would like to cross an item or two off our list while we're already there!
