RC Wonder questions

Recommended Posts

I have sailed RC Oasis class ships before, this will be my first on Wonder.  I hope to get a little more insight into the routines on Wonder.

1.  Is there a parade?  What day?  Best viewing spot?

2.  Are there any plugs by the bed?

3.  Is there a themed party on promenade (usually first night) ?

4.  Is there a place other than starbucks and promenade to get specialty coffee?  I usually get it at Park cafe but I understand wonder does not serve specialty coffee at ParkCafe.

5.  Is there a smoking area?  Where?

6.  I read a post about cappucino in solarium lounge.  Is this true?

7.  Are there "small wonders" on this ship?  They are those viewmaster posts around ship.  My grandaughters love to find them all.

8.  I watched a youtube video that had a blow up castle type play area set up on ice rink.  Any information?

Thank you for any information.

Andrea

I've been getting my coffee in the promenade cafe but I saw vitality cafe also has it. Didnt try park cafe. I go to vitality cafe to get vitamin water and people in line there were ordering coffees. They have a blender.

Not aware of any in solarium. .. crown lounge and suite lounge have free machine if you qualify to go in those.

I wasnt aware park cafe quit doing coffee but I guess I'm not keeping track.

Wonder has something I think in the closet that is like a personal router so signal is better from your cabin. I just plug in my phone or tablet in regular plug, so not sure of your ubs question. But I know wonder is more updated with the signal in your cabin.

Thank you firefly.  Park cafe has coffee but not specialty coffees (cappucino, latte).  Makes me a little sad, that was a routine for me to sit in central park with my latte in the morning.  I was hoping there was a plug or usb by bed so I could bring my mini fan.  My battery operated fan broke.  Thanks again

1. Yes, Anchors Away parade. Can’t recall which days exactly, maybe day 3 and day 6?, check cruise compass once on board as it may change with your sailing. IMHO Best place is cafe promenade or sorrentos so you can sit and relax as you wait.

. Welcome aboard party first night with midnight balloon drop if you can stay up that late. Variety of others - disco night, etc throughout the week.

7. Small wonders is only on the Oasis I think. Wonder has astronauts in various places.

8. Laser tag 2-3 times during the week when there is not an ice show or free skate. Sign up as soon as you board the ship via the Royal app. No problem also just showing up during the listed time and waiting a bit in the standby line as well. Closed toe shoes needed.

Not sure about the rest. Have fun!

We were just on Wonder and yes, there are plugs available on the end tables on either side of the bed. We attended the parade one day and I know it was offered more than once during the week. Great viewing from the second floor where the photography place is! The promenade gets quite crowded, so go early for a good seat there. The disco party one night was really fun. The cruise director knows his moves :)  There was definitely a party on the first night in the Promenade but we were too tired to attend.

1.  Yes, they have the Anchor's Aweigh Parade.  Not sure on the day since we saw it during the WB TA in 2022.  My recommendation is somewhere in front of Sorrento's or the pub where you can sit.  Just make sure you're there an hour or two before the parade starts.  We stumbled upon the parade about 30 minutes before it was to start and all we could get was behind Starbucks.  Here's my video of it from there:  Anchor's Aweigh Parade

2.  If I remember correctly, yes.  Not sure what kind of cabin you have, so here's a link to our cabin crawl.  Hopefully you can tell if there are plugs by the bed:  Cabin Crawl

4.  You can get specialty coffee at Cafe Promenade.

8.  I think what you saw was the set up for laser tag.  It is not a play area for kids.  It wasn't offered all the time, only at select times I think.

I hope that helps!

1. Check the app a couple weeks before the cruise, it should load activity dates & times. Anchors Away Parade was 12:30pm on a sea day, but don’t remember which one.
2. Plenty of plugs by the bed.

3. There’s many themed parties on the promenade, throughout the week, typically starting at 10:30pm. 80’s night, Caribbean night, 70’s disco inferno.
4. Vitality cafe and windjammer have an expresso machine, and can make a variety of coffees.
5. Starboard deck 15, and casino.
6. No.

8. Laser tag can be reserved on the app, once you’re onboard and connected to ship Wi-Fi. Adults and children are welcome to participate.
