Norwegian Star skips Punta Arenas?

I‘m currently in Punta Arenas. An hour or so ago, the Star showed up and then kept sailing right on by us, evidently on her way to Ushuaia.  Weather is good, but windy.  The port is open and shore excursions operating normally.  Any idea why they canceled the port?

On Windy.com, the "wind gust" forecast being around the 30-knot range this afternoon looks like the issue, especially since Punta Arenas is a tender port.

Also, according to Cruise Mapper the Star was scheduled to leave Punta Arenas at 4 pm, which would mean their tendering operation to get folks back onboard would be between 2-3:30 pm, at the peak of the high winds forecast just like Port Stanley a couple of weeks ago.

The Star sure doesn't seem to be having much luck with the weather this past month that's for sure.

You must be on the Viking Jupiter docked at the pier rather than tendering.

Probably this. Remember that they have to consider weather later when passengers need to get back to the ship. What's the weather forecast for the rest of the day?

The winds are actually dropping throughout the day.  However, they were supposed to be here at 8:00 and didn’t show up until after 11:00, so I’m assuming they didn’t have enough time to get passengers ashore and back via tender.
