What’s going on with Carnival Celebration?

Carnival Celebration has been doing 2-7 knots last hour or so just South/Southwest of Key West.  Sea rescue or man overboard?

killing time doing circles or barely cruising at all to save fuel. it is scheduled to arrive in Miami tomorrow morning

I just read on another cruise page, that they stopped because they found a boat with men in it off the coast of Cuba. Waiting on the coast guard. Not sure if it’s true …. Just what I read.

It was a boat off of Cuba.  My son and his girlfriend are onboard and sent this photo.

Same thing happened to us on the Magic one time.  We stayed with them until USCG arrived. Slowed us down a little, but Capt. made up time after that!

Wow. I'm sure that happens rather often in the Florida Strait.

 

I just assumed they were doing maneuvers to kill time when I first saw this thread. There's usually a lot of buffer time built in to the average cruise itinerary. My last cruise you could see on the map the next morning how we literally went in circles a few nights.
