Taxi Availability

Hello everyone, my wife and I will be at Phillipsburg with one other cruise ship and we wanted to take a taxi to and from Orient Bay Beach to one of the beach clubs for the day.  How available are taxis from the port when we dock and how easy is it to get a return taxi from the beach club at Orient Bay.  Last time we were at St Martin was over 10 years ago.

Very easy.

Walk thru the shopping areas, just follow the signs to the taxi pickup.  They will be lined up and waiting.  They are primarily vans, and the dispatcher will direct you to one going that way.  They will wait until they get a full load to proceed, but that's a popular destination, so it should not take long to fill the van.

Plenty of shared minivan taxis for the outward and return, also private taxis.  If taking a private taxi, one’s outward driver will be happy to be booked for one’s timed return.  
Note to self…. To be super time safe, allow an extra 15 minutes for the return, because of possible heavy port traffic.
