To be honest think I’d rather have the on board spend anyway! Interesting comments regarding the 'benefit', not just from you @Wonky . The financial aspects have never been an issue where my wife and I are concerned - $70 is neither here nor there in the broader outlook. We have viewed the loyalty 'perk' more in the context of being able to socialise and dine with friends who otherwise we would not have the opportunity to dine with due to their not travelling Grills or being staff members whom we wish to say thank you to: whether it be Todd English on Queen Mary 2.... or the Veranda on Queen Elizabeth or Queen Victoria.... ******* 1
exlondoner Posted March 11 #27 Share Posted March 11 In any case, there seems nothing to stop you booking a meal and using your complimentary dosh to pay for it. In effect, it gives you a choice, presumably.

As you indicated, we can still eat in a perk eatery should we want to and dining with friends from another restaurant has been one of the reasons to do so in the past but equally, I could have had a few more L.I.I.T. in lieu when not utilising it because as a well known British supermarket slogan goes, 'every little helps', towards our final bar bill in this case. 😅 All moot though as we're not on the Maiden so I guess we'll give one of the QA perk eateries a go for a nosey. Looking forward to the whole experience.

I'm late to the party. 😀 I'd never heard of it until we used to spend quite a bit of time in Toronto visiting with friends. The one [and only] time I had three one evening, I learnt its potency but I soldiered on and its my favourite after dinner drink on QV. By the way, when my mother enquired what my favourite after dinner drink was, she was astonished [she knew me well] when I said iced tea!😁
Wonky Posted March 11 #32 Share Posted March 11 Yes choice for me is the key, which by the sounds of it is a good thing. Having had a chat with the on board sales staff they tell me a change to benefits in general is imminent. (That probably means this decade!). So the guest will get to choose the benefit they receive rather than being told what they are getting. I’m guessing you’d choose between wifi or soft drinks package or discounts maybe? Doesn’t sound like the complete overhaul I was hoping for but can’t be any worse.

Did they confirm those would be the likely choices and the system will now be based on a range of personal options or are you just completely guessing that could be what they are intending. Wonky Posted March 11 #34 Share Posted March 11 They were quite vague but definitely said wifi, some spa services and other “things” and has been mentioned on other posts that there would be some sort of drop In category if a certain number of cruises were not completed in a certain period. No timescales or number of nights required were mentioned.
