Celebration vs. Mardi Gras?

Recommended Posts

Curious about which ship you would pick and why? I've narrowed our choices down to Celebration and Mardi Gras based on my casino offers. I've had better experiences sailing from Canaveral (Mardi Gras) vs. Miami (Celebration) but feel like Celebration might be the better ship? I haven't sailed on anything bigger than Breeze on Carnival and am not very familiar with pros and cons of the newer ships. It'll be 2 adults and a 12 year old.

Very similar ships.  Hard to say which is better.  A couple of the bars have different drinks, shows are a bit different, pizza and deli have different choices and other minor differences.  Pretty similar experience.  Pick based on your preference of where you like to sail from and which ports you prefer.  Casino layout exactly the same but slots will be different with both having many of the same but not all.

I've done both.  I prefer Mardi Gras because 1.) I like sailing from Port Canaveral, 2.) I hate sailing from Miami, and 3.) I like the decor and the bars better on Mardi Gras.  Aside from the slight differences already mentioned above, they're the same ship.

Celebration because I'm not flying out of Orlando again.

If they were both in Miami I'd go Mardi Gras.

Google "MCO Reserve" and all the stress of flying out of MCO will melt away.

You never even see them until you get to your gate

You must not fly out of MCO that much?  My most frequent destination airport and the screaming starts at luggage drop all the way to boarding.  Not counting parents who try to use the Priority lanes cause they have kids.

Thanks, all! I’ve been out of the Carnival loop for a bit in terms of the newer ships so I didn’t realize they were nearly identical. I’m going to opt for Mardi Gras since we’ve had better experiences sailing out of Canaveral.

I never check bags. I use MCO Reserve so I do not have to see the screaming kids or entitled parents. I wait until about 30 minutes before boarding begins to even think about riding the monorail to my airside.

Good Choice! Port Canaveral is so much better, easier, less stressful than Miami.

That's a string of words I haven't seen very often.

When are you flying out of MCO that you have been unable to get an MCO Reserve time slot?

I have not been on either ship but was set on booking the Celebration because it was newer before changing to the Mardi Gras because Port Canaveral was more convenient for us.  Based on the research I did, I was comfortable switching because the ships are so similar and both pretty new.
