rain_bowbrite Posted July 17, 2006 #26 Share Posted July 17, 2006 I love www.fotki.com It is really easy to use! The cost isn't too bad. My entire family uses this site even though my brother works for fugi .....LOL. The cost to have them print and ship the photos is less than Wal-Mart. I have been really happy with the site so far.... and it's been three years :) Thanks for leading me to fokti. I just signed up for their free account and posted some pictures from my first cruise! I don't know the difference between their free account and the premium one you pay for but I think the free account will suite my needs:D
UCF_Cruiser Posted July 25, 2006 #27 Share Posted July 25, 2006 If you are a hobby photographer, i suggest Flickr b/c people can comment and leave notes on your photos... (i use this for my photography) However for personal photo albums (vacations, etc) i use picasa web albums (a new service by google)...free and no upload limit (max storage i think is 250MB) and unnlimited albums (the free flickr limits you to only 3).... if you have gmail you can sign up right away. plus it syncs up with their free picasa software making uploading very easy! zackiedawg Posted July 26, 2006 #29 Share Posted July 26, 2006 I use both a simple, low resolution one for little web albums and slideshows (and posts to boards like this) from a site called Funtigo (Piczo is also the same owners). For $20 annual, I can upload 2,000 photos, max size 1024x768. Fine for most web posting. I also use http://www.PBase.com, where I keep my full-size and high resolution pics. Here, even if I upload at 800x600 small size, I can do so at uncompressed file sizes for maximum quality when posting...and I can upload my full 7.2MP photos. Another poster here noted he's been using PBase, and that for the basic fee you get 300MB of storage. Well, amend that to 400MB of storage, as they recently upgraded the storage for the base plan. Direct linking of posts is allowed, viewing can be open or restricted, people can leave comments, and you can alter layout, titles, and descriptions...and it preserves and displays your camera's EXIF data, so photographers can see what your settings were. Just more to look at for anyone looking for a site! http://www.funtigo.com and http://www.pbase.com.
