CruiseMob Posted April 16 #1 Share Posted April 16 We are sailing in 2025 on the Eurodam with a young lady that has never cruised before. Is HAL still doing towel animals? She mentioned that she was really hoping for towel animals because she thinks they are so cute. I haven't sailed HAL since 2019 and wasn't sure if they still do them. Rare POA1 Posted April 16 #2 Share Posted April 16 Usually on dressy / formal nights. However, our room stewards on the Nieuw Statendam in December made them other nights as well.
vjblk Posted April 16 #3 Share Posted April 16 Yes, I had them in my stateroom on my Dec cruise on the Koningsdam. And then one morning they do put towel animals all around the pool. It's fun to see them all around the pool area, 5 1
Rare Gail & Marty sailing away Posted April 16 #4 Share Posted April 16 If you tell your room Stewart they will do something special.
Rare Mike B Landlubber Posted April 16 #5 Share Posted April 16 I didn’t request it, but got an admittedly small one on Oosterdam last month.
Rare HappyInVan Posted April 16 #6 Share Posted April 16 The biggest splash is the mass parade around the pool. Best I ever saw was on the Koningsdam Hawaii in December 2022. Last year, I was on 4 HAL cruises and did not see anything of this caliber. In fact, as I recall the Statendam TA in December 2023 had none. 1

We had a few in the cabin. 2
boeckli Posted April 16 #8 Share Posted April 16 Chatting to the F&B Director on Noordam last month I mentioned that I had not seen the big 'parade' on my previous cruises and he advised that they only do them on cruises longer than 14 days now (this one was 16) 3
Euby Posted April 16 #9 Share Posted April 16 I found some towel animals themed cruise door magnets on Etsy. I plan on getting one for my door as a not-so-subtle hint for my cabin attendant. 😁

Cruising-along Posted April 16 #14 Share Posted April 16 In 2019 on the Nieuw Statendam our wonderful stewards made towel animals every night of the 39-day cruise. Here are a few of my favorites. Watching TV Giant lobster Under the bed near the end of the cruise. 1 2
YourWorldWithBill Posted April 16 #15 Share Posted April 16 We had a really cute dog on the bed one night, so we took him home and hired a trainer. He does lots of tricks now; he's really good at "play dead".🐶 1
OHCruiser Posted April 16 #16 Share Posted April 16 We were on a 28 day cruise in March & we had towel animals nearly every day. They were on the bed each evening when we returned from the early show. Some were simple, some very elaborate.

I'm not sure if I would be allowed to post them, but you just need to search "towel animal magnet" on Etsy (or Amazon) and should have several show up.
