awjsompting Posted April 19 #1 Share Posted April 19 Am looking at making a group booking of immediate family for my 50th wedding Anniversary on a short weekend cruise on Ventura. How easy will it be for me to book. Am looking at a group of 14 spread across 6 or 7 cabins ( wife and myself, son partner and one child ( F15) , son partner and 2 children (F14 M11), Daughter, and 2 grandchildren with their own partners ). I am meeting the cabin costs so want to be lead for the whole group. Any tips on best way of doing this. I am assuming that I should be able to organise for us all to eat together across a couple of tables for dinner on the actual anniversary. lindyloo22 Posted April 20 #2 Share Posted April 20 I think you will need to either phone p&o direct or book with a t/a don’t think the web site could cope with all the cabins
Thejuggler Posted April 20 #3 Share Posted April 20 Call direct, as anything above 8 can be dealt with as group booking.
john watson Posted April 23 #4 Share Posted April 23 You should make sure you know the cabin preferences all the family members should like balcony or other and in addition deck preferences and whether they want all cabins close together. Phone up with a printed deck plan to hand, let them know how many cabins you want to book and discuss your requirements. This is the best way to sort things out I suggest. Rare Cloudyrain Posted April 24 #5 Share Posted April 24 With that many people/cabins I would get a TA - ideally one that you can contact directly (rather than a call centre) who is a cruise specialist. I wouldn’t recommend doing this direct with P&O as their contact centre is pretty horrific to deal with (not the people, just getting through). We now use an independent TA as we can literally ring their direct line or email them directly with no call centre. If you have an actual Travel Agent office near you that’s also good as you can sit down and book a lot easier: especially if you are selecting cabins etc.
meeann Posted April 24 #6 Share Posted April 24 I have just booked a family cruise - 3 cabins 2x2 adults and 1x4, 2 adults, 2 children. I went through a TA and I was told, each had to be booked separately, but the deposit and all the bookings were linked. This means each cabin, can choose if they want drink packages, excursions etc which they can book themselves, but any difference with cabins upgrading, has to be done via TA. And when dining we can all sit together etc. I normally book online myself, but thought this would be too complicated - though not as complicated as yours awjsompting! meeann Posted April 25 #8 Share Posted April 25 Also when booking, make sure you have all their full names, DOB, etc as shown on their passports, as you need to give these in. Also as someone else said, if you can have a preference of where each would like their cabin to be, makes it a lot easier.
