Can you see ships that leave from Cape Liberty from Liberty State Park?

Hello, we will be sailing on our favorite ship, Symphony of the Seas, out of Cape Liberty.  We want to take a trial run up to the Cape Liberty cruise port over the summer and while we're up there see Symphony.  Will we be able to see her go by from Liberty State Park, or is there a place around Cape Liberty where we can watch her sailaway?  Thanks for your help!

Library State Park is North of port, so no not really.

There is free, though limited, parking at the Tear Drop memorial.

The entrance to that parking lot is about where employees are stationed before the drop zone. Stay in the right lane as you approach the terminal. Then go further right when you see the employees or tell them you are going to the memorial.

From NJ you are looking entirely at the aft as it sails away.  If you could get to Brooklyn there is a pier jutting into the Harbor at the end of Bay Ridge Ave as it goes under the Belt Parkway.  Alternatively, the Belt has an East Bound rest stop (no facilities, just parking) before going underneath the Verranzano.  You might even enjoy a long walk from the BR Ave pier all the way to Bay Parkway in Gravesend.  But the view right by the Verranzano will be best.

Thank you all for the info!  We want to see Symphony go by but we also want to take a dry run to the port and we realized over the weekend that it would be a madhouse on sailaway day.  we live in S Jersey so easy to jump on the turnpike and take a quick ride up on a Saturday and then plan another trip up to actually see her go by.  We're not thrilled with the ports on our cruise - Port Canaveral, Coco Cay and Nassau - but the big draw for us is Symphony herself, we can't believe we don't even have to leave our state to sail on our favorite ship!

There's also a fort in Staten Island, just north of the VZ bridge.  Good views of the ships departing NY.
