Shopping better in...

My husband and I are going on our 1st cruise in June to St.Thomas, St.Maarten, etc on Royal Caribbean. However we have heard from many people to get jewerly or watches on the islands. As well as booze. Which islands would you stay you can get the best deals on fine jewerly (such as diamond earrings or a nice watch) Do you have any suggestions of stores to go on either island. Any other advice or ideas please shout them to me.

I fully understand your need to know more information about shopping! However, your questions may have already been asked and answered many times in the different forums. The search feature is a wonderful tool using key words on the forums to narrow down the threads you will want to read.

For help in using the search feature, first of all there is more than one place to locate Search. On the blue bar above between New Posts and Quick Links, in Forum Jump at the bottom of the page, and at the top of forums or threads in Search This Forum or Search This Thread.

Just fill in your key word or words. Under Search Options and over to the right, Cruise Lines "A - O" will be highlighted on top as the default. You will need to use the slide on the right to scroll down through all the forums and highlight the one you want by clicking on it. If you want to select more than one forum at a time, also use your Ctrl key. Please feel free to use the search feature anytime. Just remember not to try a search with too many key words or in too many forums at one time.

 

If you do not find all the information you seek after your research, please feel free to post an inquiry as a new thread in the correct forum where you think you will get the best response. But first, please read FAQ and Guidelines in the blue bar up above on this page and any Announcement or Sticky posts at the top of any forums. Be sure to word your title so that the other Cruise Critic members scrolling through the threads will know exactly the information you seek and will reply to you. Some will tell you St.Maarten and some St. Thomas. Mant of the stores are the same on both islands. Both are good for shopping for jewelry.

 

You can purchase more booze duty free on St.Thomas. If you buy it before a certain time, they will deliever it to the ship. AH Riise is the name of the store.

 

There is one store that has gotten a bad rap from a number of people. Diamonds International. I would avoid this store.

 

If you are buying diamonds, you should know what you are doing. As always, buyer beware.
