jeblack1 Posted May 1 #1 Share Posted May 1 Looking at photos it appears the Excel class balcony rooms appear a bit small, but the sq footage seems to indicate about the same. To those that have been on both, is it a big difference or not noticeable at all? I know the Excel Class alternates where the bed and couch is, so that could be a factor as well. This is just for standard balcony.

The furnishings certainly are more functional in the Excel class.
weezal Posted May 1 #3 Share Posted May 1 i assume you meant vista class ship (panorama is in this class). i've been on both, and the balcony is about the same. you can compare standard cabin sizes here panorama 185/35 = 220 square feet https://help.goccl.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5128 jubilee 205/44 = 249 square feet https://help.goccl.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/7973 as for the placement of the bed vs sofa in the room, look for the gray color coded cabins (these have beds closer the bathroom), on the excel ship accessible deck plan https://www.carnival.com/~/media/Images/Ships/JB/DeckPlans/carnival-jubilee-accessible-cruising-deck-plan-pdf.pdf
trvlgirlmq Posted May 2 #4 Share Posted May 2 It’s very noticeable especially if you get one of the horrible rooms with the beds next to the bathroom. The bathroom is signiftsmaller and even for someone petite like me it was a squeeze. Love the rest of the ship bu the rooms suck.

Yikes....I have read that the bathrooms are smaller, but even if they are smaller, at least you don't have to share it with the shower curtain creeper....now I am wondering if I should try to switch to a room that is opposite with the bed near the window. We've been on all 3 Excel class ships, in balcony cabins with the bed nearer the bathroom, and nearer the balcony...while these cabins did not "suck", we actually prefer the bed be nearer the bathroom, seemed to open up the area next to the balcony door. But yes, the cabins are a bit narrower, but nothing for us to be concerned about. Though them bathrooms are a bit smaller...does make for a cozy shower experience.
