SIN -> hotel -> Marina Bay terminal

Hi, we'll be flying to Singapore and are looking for a convenient hotel for a one (maybe two) night stay, along with transportation suggestions from the airport and then to the cruise port the next day.

A centrally-located hotel close to food, shopping, fun stuff to do, etc. would be great, but idiot-proof access to transportation (public or otherwise) and our destinations is our top priority :)  Thanks!

@pseudoware
Hotel
Andaz Singapore for luxury

Pan Pacific for a very good hotel within a medium price range

The Scarlett for a boutique hotel

We have also done the Marina Bay Sands to check it off our bucket list. Nice but impersonal mass processing.

If you haven´t been to Singapore before, be sure to make it two nights. Singapore is fantastic.

Don´t worry about transport!!! Taxis in Singapore are incredibly inexpensive. The ride from the airport to the city is just around USD 20. The MRT is also very inexpensive. There are stations everywhere.
I highly recommend using the Grab App (the uber of Asia). You can also use it to pay in the Hawker Centers. If you stay in the city the ride to the cruise terminal will probably under USD 10.

Maybe our travelogue helps. We started this cruise from Singapore.

@pseudoware taxis in Singapore plentiful and very cheap.
Avoid Marina Bay Sands as huge, impersonal, and far from anything unless you like shopping centres with faux Venetian canal!

Recommend Telegraph Hotel right in Lau Pa Sat and easy walk to China town.
Scarlett is boutique hotel little closer to Chinatown.
DAO by Dorset is great hotel, rooms have kitchen area with washing machines - just a few mins walk further from Telegraph.

Apologies for jumping onto this thread. Our cruise next year disembarks in Singapore and unfortunately due to time constraints we will have to fly out the same day.  Flight isn’t until 11.00 pm so we will have a few hours to have a look around, so would welcome any suggestions for a whistle stop tour, plus, what can we do with our bags before going to the airport?  Thanks in advance for any help.

bring your luggage to the airport early and return to town. Wander around China Town, Marina Bay etc. and you‘ll have a great day.

As others have said.. taxis are plentiful and inexpensive to/from the airport/port. Singapore is very small.. but so much to do! Most Hotels are central and the MRT is an exceptional and easy way to get around the city. Stay at least 2 nights if you can.
