Damascus43 Posted May 2 #1 Share Posted May 2 I haven't checked a bag at an airport in the last 20 years and would rather not when I go on the Breakaway in September. My bag fits in the overhead on an airplane and fits through x-ray machines. Do I have to give it up at the terminal or can I bring it onboard with me?

That¨s what I do.
julig22 Posted May 2 #3 Share Posted May 2 Usually yes. I think San Pedro is the only port that I've been to that also checked carry-ons.

My wife and I always bring a carry on and a small backpack, no issues at all

But you'll be hauling it around through very crowded halls and elevators until your room is ready around 2-2:30 pm. Personally, we just drop our bags with the porters regardless of size. We don't want to be fighting to squeeze into elevators and trying to figure out how not to block the aisles in restaurants. Anything of importance is in our backpack which is easy to carry around. On my recent Bliss cruise it was Q Smokehouse, on other ships it has been the Bliss lounge. I have seen others mentioning the casino. When I have used this service it has been manned and it's like leaving your coat in a manned wardrobe where you get a numbered ticket.

I just got off the Breakaway on Sunday, If you would like there is a room where you can leave your carry on. They did announce the room over the loudspeaker but I don't remember which one it was.
