@fpsphil - Thank you for doing this. Our very first Alaska cruise included Hubbard Glacier and it was a fabulous clear and sunny day. We saw quite a bit of calving. Hubbard is our favorite glacier.

Where did the tenders let you out in Ketchikan? Was there a shuttle to take you into town?

Princess doesn't tender in Ketchikan. Sapphire docked as usual.

Going in August - and got notice from Princess that will anchor and use shuttles at that time.

Oh, Viking Orion stole berth 4 from the Ruby on August 4.

 

The tender boats will bring you close to berth 3.

You don't need a shuttle from there.

If these questions have been addressed I apologize but wondering if any of the lodges take cash for meals etc, and also if they have sandwiches etc for purchase on the paddle wheeler excursion. Summary just says no lunch provided doesn’t say if it is available.
 

We did not purchase the meal plan so just trying to figure out what our options are.

We have complimentary coffee and fresh donuts at the Riverboat Discovery. If you are looking for something more than donuts, we have three options available at the Riverboat Discovery: Discovery Dining Hall, where we serve a hearty miner’s stew (vegetarian and gluten-free options available upon request); galleys on board the boats that have snack food (reindeer dogs, chili, chips, etc.); Captain’s Corner, where we offer lunch boxes (sandwiches, salad, chips and a soda). We also serve locally made ice cream on the boats and at Captain’s Corner in the gift shop. At Gold Dredge 8, we serve complimentary freshly baked cookies, coffee and hot chocolate.
