Carnival Hub App for Chatting

I know we can pay $5 to chat with our friends who are going with us, but can we do that before we get on the ship or does it have to be done after we get on the ship?  I have not been able to find anything regarding this topic anywhere.  Thank you!

the app, and its chat functionality, only works while you're on ship wifi

The "Chat" feature needs to have a notification/alert added to it.  That is my only complaint about Chat.  $5 per person for the entire cruise is reasonable.

i find the $5 to be one of the biggest bargains on Carnival.  

 

we dont use it much but it is delightful to send updates to fellow family members when travelling as a group.  (we dont have international package on cel)

I’ve never seen a way to buy it before getting on the ship. And it’s $5 per person for the entire cruise. It is wonky. Sometimes, I get texts right away. Other times, takes a while. But it’s worth it for $5.

Yes, $5 per person for the entire cruise whether it be 3 nights or 11.
