Carnival Magic that bad?? Anyone sailed them recently?

We were on the Magic May 12 Western Caribbean. Balcony room. Loved the ship. Needs a few maintenance here and there . I think dry dock is January. Food in MDR was great. The cordon blue was not good, but hey i didnt have to cook or clean!!! 32 cruises on Carnival to date.
our room steward was awesome. The casino did not take all of our money, we came home on the positive side! Ports were awesome. Take the flying chair to the beautiful beach in Roatan. I rode it around twice!!! $15 pp all day. The beach is very nice and they have tons of free loungers. Spent all day in the water.

your cruise depends on your attitude. Make the best of it. Things happen, chair hogs, elevator rudeness, etc.

As usual Guys burgers were great and bar waiters everywhere!!!

My next cruise is on the Freedom in October with a room under the bridge. Not a balcony until you discover the door that goes outside!!!

Love Magic, have sailed a few times, was one of our fav ships until we sailed excel class ships.  Although we have new favs now and its been a couple yrs since our last cruise on Magic, the newest/ most recent reviews seem to be positive for the most part.  Do your research and look at the deck plans online and I am sure you will have a great trip.

We got off the Magic yesterday.   She is still a great ship.  Sure, not brand new, but well loved.  Honestly, the main thing I noticed was the rust on the outside of the ship.  This was being addressed by workers at every port.  We did noticed new carpeting in a few places.  Don't let the nay sayers dissuade you from sailing on the Magic.  She is still a wonderful ship.

I was on the Magic for 8 days last month and I enjoyed it.  All the food was good..I ate Guys BBQ, Blue Iguana for breakfast and lunch, Guys Burgers, Pizza place, MDR, Lido buffet, Steakhouse (FABULOUS!!)

Staff was always friendly and welcoming.

I will say that the other cruisers were not as polite as they were last time I cruised pre-covid.  People used to always say hello in the halls, and now, it seems that was a rarity.

I had a mani/pedi in the spa and went to a presentation there as well and enjoyed everything.  I don't like all the upselling while trying to get a relaxing mani/pedi, but I go in there knowing it's going to happen and I politely decline.

I'd sail her again.

We love the Dream class, and prefer Magic over Dream because they have a Red Frog Pub instead of an art gallery.  Been on Dream class ships many times and it's still our favorite. Just can't beat the Ocean Plaza for us, and not as crowded as Vista class. Booked for Southern Caribbean in January 2025.

Just got off our 4th Magic cruise on May 12.  Love the ship!  No complaints.  Staff were friendly, helpful and professional.  Food was good to very good. Yes, there were some things that needed repair but all in all it was a great cruise.  Would book again without hesitation.

We noticed that if we were the ones to greet others in the halls or elevators, there were very friendly responses.   Sometimes you have to be the first to greet someone instead of waiting to be greeted. We also found this true with the crew.  They like being acknowledged and asked about where they're from, etc.
