Glaciers Posted June 1 #1 Share Posted June 1 It will be interesting to see how this plays out. "Starting in 2026, Juneau will have a cap on the number of daily passengers that come off cruise ships: 16,000 people on most days and 12,000 people on Saturdays. Currently, Juneau can see up to 21,000 visitors on its busiest days." https://www.ktoo.org/2024/05/31/with-cruise-tourism-booming-juneau-has-negotiated-a-limit-on-how-many-passengers-can-come-off-ships/

Cruzaholic41 Posted June 1 #3 Share Posted June 1 As it should. It’s gotten ridiculously busy with several mega ships in town. I’m sure the locals (actual locals, not seasonal folks who only fly in to run their trinket shops) want this.
wcook Posted June 2 #4 Share Posted June 2 If I understand correctly, they are basically locking in the current level of cruise passengers. Which pleases neither the NIMBY crowd, nor the unlimited growthers
