Can't tell you..Not great with names..  He did get the loudest ovation when the Captain introduced him, after all the others at the beginning of the show in the theater. Captain saved him for last..Don't hold me to it, but I believe he was from Africa...

Thanks Hawkstar33.  We are on the ship in August for Iceland and glad to hear things onboard are all good.  We did Summit to Bermuda twice and it was a great trip with a lot of demand so Celebrity moved the Eclipse into that run for this year.

A year ago we were lucky, marine traffic was light as we sailed away and Captain Smith was able to spend a lot of time around The Lady so we all got great views of her and of the city before we headed for the VZ bridge.  Even though we lived there for 34 years the sights are always impressive.

Yes. The Mast grill starts doing onions around 10am. The smell is awesome.. With that in mind, the line is long when they open up. There are not too many seats there.  Early birds gets the seats..All the great food on the ship, but nothing beats a good burger, or hot dog, with really good fries...Do you have any specific questions, maybe I could answer about the ship?  Can't help with any suite/retreat questions, but otherwise I might be able to help

Only have 2 concerns which have been addressed I think....the condition of the ship and I think you said it's A OK for an older ship...and the other is what balcony furniture do you have?  If they've changed to the pair of kitchen chairs and dinky table I won't be impressed.  The reclining back chair and foot stool is what we've enjoyed always on S class...some say they have them now and others say the foot stools are removed but the chair is the same?

Crew keeps the ship looking good..It is overdue for a refreshing, refurbishment...Paint over rust spots, staining towel stations and handrails, carpets, new theater chairs, chair and cushion replacements, are some things we heard from crew... None of those things would stop me..I would go right back on it tomorrow if I could..We were in concierge 12105 on the hump with a nice size balcony..Adjustable chairs, footstools, and a big table...And we decided we enjoy the old style balcony, over the Infinite veranda...Matter of personal choice...S Class is our choice....

We believe she will get a light update/ refresh soon as posted above in this thread. Hope this is correct.

We just booked a Carib cruise  for 8 nights for Jan 2026.  Prices were fairly high but we booked AQ Class plus Classic bev and wifi (not needed). At least we will have seats for breakfast & dinner!

Oddly,   ECLIPSE is the only S Class ship we never tried..but they are all probably quite similar.

We were in a deluxe veranda and had two reclining chairs, no footstools. My DS and BIL were in concierage and had footstools. My complaint was large veranda with 3 in the cabin but could not get 3rd chair.  We asked nicely.
Ship was in fine shape-definitely go see Fabricio and Eka at the World Class Bar. At least 3 of our 5 closed the bar most nights.  They are the most personable and fun bartenders we have had at that bar. We are usually Martini Bar people but not this trip.

were there  photographers on board at  stations  folks could visit?

Chic night we saw them taking photos by Cellar masters bar, which is near the casino..Other then that, we really did not see much photo ops....There may have been, but not like the old days when they were always around, offering to take your photo

We've sailed Eclipse 5 times, last being 2017 and she looked just fine to me;  I hoped she hadn't aged too fast in 7 years...lol.  As to similar, I couldn't get lost on one or the other S class ships main areas.
