Vero Water: Spot the obvious mistake

Congatulations to SS for its continuous improvement philosophy.

This week the Cloud had a fancy new Vero Water system installed.

And the rollout included fancy new glass bottles in the suites, labelled STILL and SPARKLING.

See below - compared with the 'old' bottle.

So far - so good.

But not sure they have thought this through.
The correct design for a bottle to be stable in rough sees is the OLD bottle: Short and squat. Bigger at the bottom than the top.

The new bottles are: Tall and wider at the top. Great for a land-based restaurant. Not for an ocean going vessel.

I didn't take any pictures of our veranda cabin on Whisper, but we had cabinets where they stored wine glasses etc.  Preparing for the Tasman Sea crossing, we stuffed all the water bottles along with soft things there and had no breakage.  You have to be a sailor on a cruise!

The “new” bottles look the same as the ones I have had in my various ships’ cabins since March last year, including Wind in Antarctica in December.  Never did one fall off the bench top.

I Thought that was only required on Virgin? 🥳

That's because they couldn't ask their passengers to be V.....s!  😏

Are you familiar with the tale of the famous Liver birds, Bertie and Bella? They watch over both  the sea and the city and are reputed to flap their wings every time a Virgin walks past them.
