  1. They changed it in the system for me. Its now zero. In my opinion the current excursion seelction system needs to be much more robust, its very basic.
  2. We contacted our TA prior . Seems very easy. Its our first SS cruise so I'll tell you in 5 weeks if it worked. 😁
  3. We put in a special request for still Panna water in the room every day. Thanks Stumblefoot. Couldn't you do the same for Perrier or equivalent. Take it do dinner if its important to you.
  4. Viking IPO https://www.renaissancecapital.com/Profile/VIK/Viking/IPO
  5. We received a cheaper fare and the $1000 OBC (Nova - AUS/NZ). Many thanks taxatty!
  6. Sette Mari has a full a la carte menu (waiter service) and an additional buffet. It fills up quickly so its important to arrive near 6:30 when it opens to be assured of getting a seat. The second seating around 8.
  7. I contacted SS Shore Concierge and they took off this charge. The error was corrected and they apologized. All good.
  8. If I have an existing reservation am I now entitled to the $1000 OBC now offered?
  9. Other than "cancel for any reason" will trip insurance cover a cruise where the cruise line changed the ports of call? Laurence, if you made your own flight accomodations have you contacted the airlines? Sounds like a difficult situation for you. Good Luck.
  10. Regent comment above. I'm under the impression that SS isn't alone with these reported issues.
  11. I'm under the impression that they are "flying by the seat of their pants" with these excursions. The system lets you waitist an excursion and book another included available (backup) but charges you for both, one should be included . When we waitlisted the system didn't tell us they added new time slots. I went back and deleted a few days and rebooked with what we wanted. When we booked the cruise in Feb (Dec cruise) one port had no inlcuded excursions now it does. Its very important to keep checking.
  12. I have the same exact ships in Vancouver in May. I guess its better than 7600. I went to cruise mapper and it appears both ships leave before SS. I'm not confident I can predict when will be the slowest. Grin and bear in I guess. One would think they would add resources.
  13. Post #15 reflects on some of our experiences (2019) https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2859002-links-to-any-tokyo-to-tokyo-trip-reports/#comment-63382085
  14. I would keep checking what is available. We had a couple "waitlisted" excusrions in Feb (10 months out) and they eventually added extra time slots. There was no heads up that they were available. The system seems to waitlist for the excursion at the one time slot. I agree that at this point in the process there should be more availability.
  15. A review of our 3 day pre cruise packege is in this link. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2859002-links-to-any-tokyo-to-tokyo-trip-reports/#comment-63382085
  16. Here are a couple observations about our experience with the SS online excursion booking process. When we had a waitlisted excursion we also would pick an available excursion to make sure we had one. In this case it appears that SS system will then bill you for both "included" excursions. In one case I deleted the waitlisted ( it was now full) and deleted our other excursion. I then re entered the excursion and it had no charge. In another case the non waitlisted excusion was now waitlisted so I am waiting to hear back from SS. I have a charge for one included excursion and dont want to delete it because its now waitlisted. Also in a couple cases I had waitlisted excursions and SS added more time slots but the waitlist will only work on the first desired time so I had to delete them all and re enter the now available waitlisted excursion with a new time slot. If this makes sense.🙄
  17. We did the "included" pre-cruise Tokyo package in 2019. I have a review in here somewhere. We thought Regent did a fine job, if we had to pay for it we probably would have done it ourselves. If you have any specific quetions let me know, I can try to find my review. Maybe there are some people with more recent experiences.
  18. I'm a pretty relaxed guy mwike but I wonder why its such a big deal to put on a decent pair of pants and shirt. Currently this is Regents Dress Code from the website "Attire ranges from Casual to Formal Optional. Casual wear consists of resort-style outfits; some examples are jeans, shorts, t-shirts, and tennis shoes. Casual wear is appropriate for daytime both on board or ashore. Casual wear is not appropriate after 6:00 PM. On the night prior to disembarkation, guests may need to pack their luggage early due to morning flights the next day. With this in mind, on the last night of every voyage, we will relax the dress code for dinner to Casual. Otherwise, the recommended onboard dress in the evenings is Elegant Casual. Dinner dress for ladies includes a skirt, or slacks with a blouse or sweater, a pant suit or dress; slacks and a collared shirt for gentlemen. Sport jackets are optional. Casual wear is not to be worn at dinner. Ties are not required. On sailings of 16 nights or more, Formal and Semi-Formal attire is optional on two of the evenings. On the two Formal Optional evenings, guests are welcome to dress as per the elegant Casual dress code or opt for a more formal choice of clothing including gowns and cocktail dresses for ladies; tuxedos, dinner jackets or dark suits with tie for gentlemen."
  19. The December Nova cruise to Australia that we booked in February is now up ~ 10%. We make our own flights and transfers.. When we booked it was Door to Door with the credits now classified as Port to Port. Its still cheaper than Regent by a lot. SS is now charging 8K (two people Veranda) for economy tickets and transfers on our cruise. We got a "deal" of $15k (US) for two business class tickets with one stop from NC. Many of the business class tickets were $18-20k, so 8k for economy might be within reason. I didn't check economy prices.
  20. I do too but reduce it by the 10k. Is that not a good idea? My understanding is that you don't need to insure the entire trip.
  21. Thanks. Its my understanding that the AMEXP travel insurance ($10K) is only valid if the entire trip is booked on AMEX. Is that your understanding?
  22. It looks very marginal to me. Costco gives 3% on travel, not Silversea but Regent & Celebrity are included. Amex Platinum gives 2x if you book with AMEX. We always used AMEX points for flights, many great deals over the years, but now the points are worth close to 1% with most airlines. Some deals but not many. AMEXP brings some other great benefits to the table.
  23. Silversea has recently lowered the formality of its dress code. Still a touch more formal than Regent but not much. https://www.silversea.com/travel-informations/what-to-pack.html
