Halibut

We will be in Alaska  in early Sept. One in our group wants some good Halibut (myself, a Deadliest Catch junkie would love fresh crab) our stops are Juneau, Haines, Ketchikan and Prince Rupert. Any suggestions? I have read about Tracy's Crab Shack but like I said, we are also looking for Halibut

In Juneau consider Hanger on the Wharf.  Use goggle to find their website, which has their menu.

In Ketchikan consider Annabelle's Famous Keg and Chowder House.  Again, their menu is on their website but they also have specials of the day.

We just got back a few weeks ago and pretty much every restaurant has Halibut and almost all of it was really good. I ate it almost everyday. Annabelle's was packed with a line down the street when we were getting off the ship so we skipped it. On the way back there was no wait so bingo, it was good and I had the Halibut there. If you are a Deadliest Catch fan as I am you know that all of the crab is caught and processed/frozen in the Bering Sea. So you won't really find that kind of crab fresh. You can find fresh Dungeness crab and it is excellent, That being said we went to Tracey's and it is pricey but it was excellent and a fun place that was well worth it to me.

Note that there is at least one Deadliest Catch themed excursion in Ketchikan. I’ve not done it, but the one I’m thinking of gets good reviews. Like most Alaska excursions, it’s a bit pricy.

Every decent restaurant has good halibut. It is ubiquitous.

Annabelle's has the BEST halibut fish and chips...  I made a game of it on a previous cruise - had fish and chips in every port.  It was a 14 day cruise.  Annabelle's won hands down...

I have seen and I would love it if I was able to get on one of the actual boats on the show and could meet one of the captains (I don't ask for much!), THAT I would pay for.

Hi, in Ketchikan there's the Burger Queen on the dock, by berth 3, they have good halibut sandwiches, an their shakes are to die for. Burger Queen isn't much, just a hole in the wall place, but very good.

Those are usually the best places! Thank you
