FLL to Port of Miami

Hotels in Lauderdale are generally cheaper, depending on time of year. We always stay at Hyatt Place on SE 10th. street. It is a 2-3 mile shuttle ride from airport. There are shuttle companys that will pick you up in the morning, ( shared shuttles ) and bring you to port of Miami. Starting at $ 15 P.P. We have used sasrideshares in the past. They will bring you back to Fort Lauderdale airport after your cruise. There are a few others also. Qls. Uber or taxi will be quite expensive, it is about 22 miles trip.

When sailing out of FLL we stay at the Renaissance on 17th street.  In February we stayed at the Marriott Fort Lauderdale Airport for our cruise out of Miami.  We take a Lyft or Uber from our hotel to the cruise ship, either FLL or MIA.

For our upcoming cruise out of Miami we are flying to Miami and staying at either the Marriott Miami Biscayne Bay or maybe the JW Marriott in Brickell - still undecided.

Also, would you recommend I stay in a hotel near FLL or a hotel near the port?

you really-really need to price shop in both MIA and FLL. In the past FLL hotels were cheaper, but it is no longer true.

SAS left us at the port, without providing a reasonable explanation as to why. We were lucky enough to catch a different shuttle.

3 weeks ago Lyft/Uber from Port Everglades to MIA was $60 (3 of us, SUV). It's the same price it would have been in a shuttle for 3 people. If you are alone, you may be better off sharing Lyft/Uber with people or with a shuttle.
