Taking Westerdam 53 day to Asia

Believe this is called a legendary cruise, didn’t realize it is basically 

backtoback cruise, with turnaround in Tokyo after nineteen days.

We are 14 points away from 4 stars, anyone know if the second part

of cruise we will be able to get the 4 stars? Free laundry will be so

nice!

Hmmm... Maybe, but more likely it would only happen if you booked the b2b as two separate cruises rather than the one cruise.  I'll be following to see if others have had a similar situation and their status has changed mid-cruise...

Would not say "for sure" because these days HAL can change any rule any day at any time.  But, normally, if you are booked under a single reservation (i.e. cruise number) you will not get upgraded during the voyage.  The one exception has been on "Grand Cruises" when upgrades were granted between segments.

I think it was just recently released as a 2 part cruise; maybe trying to fill the ship.  If you only need 14 days to get to laundry "nirvana" (Yay!), and you book this whole thing as 2 cruises, you should get it.

We are 15 points from 5 star. The Mariner Society replied to my email question that I could request 10 days into our 53 day Majestic Japan Cruise to the front desk to request to bump our star. Normally,  they don't bump us til after the cruise. Will see what happens.

"For all cruises except Grand Voyages, your elevated benefits will take effect on your next Holland America Line cruise. If you cross a star level threshold while on board a Grand Voyage (based on days sailed), you will be upgraded to your new star level for the remainder of that voyage."

Tell the front desk when you get on the ship .. it does not cost money  to ask with a smile .

You are correct       But this Voyage 53 day  is not a Grand Voyage .😆

Thanks everyone, we will go to front desk the next day,

usually embarkation day is a madhouse.May get it or

not, Holland does laundry the best out of all the cruise lines

we have been on

Here was the reply from my question:

 

Thank you for your recent correspondence with Holland America Line.

 

Unfortunately, this voyage would not automatically qualify for the change in Mariner Status to be honored onboard. Only World Cruises and Grand Voyages have this in place. With that being said, you can speak with Guest Services (Front Desk) onboard regarding this once you have been onboard for 15+ days. They can send us a request to have your Mariner Status honored for the duration of the voyage. These requests are reviewed on a Case-by-Case basis, so we cannot provide an answer for you at this time.
