Weather for Viking River Cruise early September for Amsterdam to Basel

Hello, any information/experience on the weather for the Rhine River cruise in early September from Amsterdam to Basel?  I am thinking of packing shorts, jeans, cargo pants, short sleeve & long sleeve T-shirts for daytime and bringing hoodies to wear if it gets cool.  I'm thinking we won't see much rain.  I just don't want to overpack.  Thanks for any information.

You can never know about rain, this year Europe has been hit bad, and the rivers are flooding.

 

As to the weather, I'd suggest looking at a weather app that does long range forecasts - I use AccuWeather, and will check the towns along the way starting about 1 month prior to sailing. As time gets closer to packing, I tend to check daily.
