Miami - Amtrak (Hotel and Transportation Questions)

We are taking the train from Jacksonville to Miami. What hotels close to train station do y'all recommed? Preferably one with a shuttle to the cruise port.

On our return, how long does it take to get from the Port to the Amtrak station using Uber or a Taxi?

Had anyone else done a train to cruise journey?

The Amtrak station in Miami is north of the MIA airport and a LONG way from the port.  Your best bet is to Uber/Lyft or taxi to a hotel near MIA or downtown Miami, and then use a shuttle service or another Uber the next day to get to POM - most MIA area hotels can arrange for a paid shuttle to the port.

Find a hotel you like anywhere in the Miami area and take an Uber there, then Uber to the port the next day. You are paying thousands for a cruise, don’t worry about the small cost of an Uber.

As far as time from port to train station I would allow 45 minutes, which is probably too much but better safe than sorry.

Those of us in Orlando can use Brightline to Miami where the station is in downtown Miami rather than Amtrak which is nowhere near downtown.

On your return train, are you on the 8:10am departure or 11:40am departure? The first one you'd really have to hustle to make it while the second departure gives you plenty of time to get to it; no hurry at all.
