How important is it to register in advance of travel to japan on their web page? Can it be done on arrival at the airport?

Can you register once for husband and wife or does it have to be individual?

We registered in advance but had an unexpected flight change and arrival airport en route.  I changed that on the website during our connection and took a screen shot of the QR code.  Worked well.  Do one for each person traveling.

Is it only for people flying in? How about arriving by cruise ship?

We did this in March.  You do not have to do this.  However it is well worth it as it speeds clearance both passport and customs.  We made it through from plane to arrival hall -  in 15 minutes with carry on.

 

Yes one log on for entire family.  Just add the people.  But you will get multiple QR codes one for each person.
