July 2026 pricing on HAL

Just finished booking 35 day Voyage of the Vikings in July 2026 on the Zuiderdam one of the older ships HAL owns with 3 of our friends. We looked at a 42 day Solar Eclipse Collectors Voyage on Nieuw Statendam also in July 2026 but our friends are still part of the work force so it did not work for the group of us. My question is a how can a Neptune suite on Zuiderdam for 35 days cost $20,000 more than a Neptune suite on Nieuw Statendam for a 42 day cruise?

If you look at the itineraries the ships make stops at 10 of the same ports of call. I always saw that prices on newer ships were higher than the older ships.

Far more complicated than that. For example, the Pinnacle class ships (N. Statendam) have proportionally a much smaller number of Neptunes, as opposed to the Vista (Zuiderdam) and Signature (Eurodam) class....

 

Newest ship isn't always more expensive, as the OP is documenting. 

 

The will be fewer people on the Zuiderdam to spread the fixed costs across.

 

The Voyage of the Vikings is probably the most popular cruise HAL sails.
