Lorna Doone Posted August 18 #1 Share Posted August 18 We are booked next year on a regent cruise with a precruise tour. We liked the pretour so much we decided to book the cruise. In the fine print it says if you don’t show up the first day of your land tour your hotel is cancelled. I hate to arrive any earlier for the tour and cruise since the pretour is already 4 days in advance and pickup is included from the airport day of cruise. Has anyone experienced this? It seems if you let hotel or cruiseline know flight is delayed they should hold your accommodations and remaining pretour once you can get there. Rare mj_holiday Posted August 18 #2 Share Posted August 18 On our precruise we were picked up at the airport and the next morning we took another plane to the destination, so there would have been complications if we did not show up when needed. Our flights were booked with Regent If it were me, I would deviate 210 days early and have TA help with selection of flights. It really depends on the logistics of the precruise. shuguley Posted August 18 #3 Share Posted August 18 We were on a Regent pre cruise trip in Jerusalem and there was a couple that missed the first day due to flight cancellations. Since their air arrangement were made through Regent their reservations at the hotel and land trips were held without a problem.

One of our flights was canceled, so we had to fly the following day. The change in flights was handled by the airline. In the meantime, we contacted Regent at their reservation center and told them what happened. They contacted the tour operator and our hotel room was held. They also arranged for our transfer to the hotel to be made when we finally arrived. The one good thing was that our hotel room was ready for immediate use as soon as we checked in. We joined the tour one day late.

Yes. But the handling of the tour disruption should be the same regardless of who booked the flight.
