Are you taking a long term break from Carnival? Done and moving to a different line? Or just nothing else currently booked?

I really haven’t been booking Carnival for over a year now. I do have two more Carnival cruises left. But I’m not really shopping Carnival anymore. I’m mostly looking at Norwegian and Princess. I have three Norwegian cruises booked. There’s also a Royal cruise I’m looking at.

I think I’ll be back on Carnival when the new ships come out. And they’ll always be an option if I need something drivable since they have so many ships I can drive to year round. Maybe when I’m looking at Europe since you can bring alcohol onboard. I’m not really interested in paying Carnivals cheers/internet prices anymore.

The other lines do more for solos. Princess gave me double points, upgraded me to a balcony for cheap, and Princess plus with drinks, internet and gratuities is cheaper than cheers alone.

Norwegian has the most solo cabins and rates. On my last NCL cruise i paid a total of $150 for my drink package which was gratuities. Got several free excursions. Several discounted excursions. A free specialty dinner. It’s a good value.

Royal I’m mostly in for the itinerary but they do have some solo balconies I’m looking at.

I’ve followed a few lives. They don’t interest me at all.

Think i forgot to post this earlier. It was when I got my laundry. These people at the beginning of my hallway constantly leave plates there. There’s a different one out there now. Which hey..you’re allowed to do that. But my god they are right around the corner from blue iguana cantina. There’s a little station there where they put the dirty plates. It would be so easy just to drop It off there.

in this case it looks like they didn’t eat any of it. Someone must be eating every meal in the room because it’s constantly new plates out there.

People are so lazy. We usually have a lido deck room so it's super easy to take our glasses, etc. out there and put them where they belong.

Great review Greg, thank you - I enjoyed following along!

I too have begun moving on to other cruise lines lately.  I especially like Princess for the reasons Greg mentioned.  In addition, Carnival stockholder’s OBC apples on Princess.  Princess also has some of the amenities Carnival has eliminated, like tablecloths in the MDR for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and twice-daily room servicing.  Not a huge deal, but it’s nice to have.

I agree Nancy.

It's the way Carnival used to be.

Booking after final payment sometimes no solo supplement too.

Yes and for military Princess gives OBC for that so I got $200 OBC with them with that and shareholder. NCL gives me 10% off and some cool gifts. I got a challenge coin and a ship specific patch for being a veteran with them.

And the Princess Plus package at $60 per day includes tips and WiFi for less than the Cheers daily rate.  Quite a big benefit.
