Midwest Sunseeker Posted August 28 #1 Share Posted August 28 We have an October mid week flight into Boston airport during the midafternoon. What is the easiest and safest way to get transportation to a hotel close to Cruise port? Should we get a taxi, Lift or Uber? Where are the assigned pickup areas for for these services? Thank you for your help.
zqvol Posted August 28 #2 Share Posted August 28 I would use Uber or Lyft. The pickup area is well marked.

Lyft and Uber are easy from Logan-- when you are in the app you'll see the pickup areas closest to you and then you just walk across the roadway to the pickup zone you choose.
nonni2 Posted August 29 #4 Share Posted August 29 Although we intended to use Uber, we found a taxi to be easier and cheaper. Uber adjusts their rates according to how busy they are. Whenever we needed a ride, they were always the more spendy option, and taxis were always available.

At Boston all it takes is getting stuck in traffic in one of the tunnels for the equation to flip. Uber at least sticks to the fare they quote-- when you are in Boston gridlock with the taxi meter running it can be miserable.
robcruz Posted September 1 #6 Share Posted September 1 How much is the taxi from Logan to the port weekday around 2PM?
bgorrill Posted September 20 #7 Share Posted September 20 The best bet is to take the free MBTA Sliver Line bus to either the World Trade Center, Seaport St. or South Station and grab an Uber from there. You only need to step outside the buggage pick up area to the curb and look for the signs. The busses have luggage racks and come frequently. It save a lot of money, as cabs and Ubers have to drive through the 2 lane tunnel ("The Ted" Williams tunnel) under Boston Harbor. Traffic can be brutal and slow, and there's a toll fee tacked on to your ride.
