Aus Traveller Posted September 3 #2 Share Posted September 3 For cruises booked within Australia and NZ, automatic gratuities do not apply on Princess cruises on the Australian-based ships. The cruise fares include a reasonable pay schedule for the crew that does not rely on gratuities.
Rare arxcards Posted September 4 #3 Share Posted September 4 (edited) It was an unannounced increase, as it is an onboard expense and really no different to putting up the price of a cocktail. These were in the system over a week ago, with the new rate for pre-paying grats already showing in my personaliser back then. For our 30 days cruising from Southampton next June/July it will cost us each an extra $US60. I think we will manage. As mentioned above, not big news in our waters - as long as we can keep Princess on the same $AU fare structure indefinitely beyond P&O Australia's exit. icat2000 Posted September 4 #5 Share Posted September 4 Just build it into the cruisefare and be done with it all. Such a simple solution. Don't know why they don't roll it out everywhere. Sure there will be complainers. But they will go away over time.
