17 night Azamara Norway Intensive.  What shore excursions must not be missed?

Thanks

North Cape Tour-we did it with Blue Puffin Tours in Honningsvåg last month. We also did a small group tour in Ålesund. Tour was with LocalTrips AS (booked through Viator). It was called Land of the Trolls.

I thought the train in Flam was fun and the views spectacular. Also it is not too long and you have time to walk around the town and we visited a brewery and museum. You dont need to do an AZ shore excursion for this one, we booked the train direct.

We actually stayed in Bergen for a few nights prior to the cruise, and then did the “Norway in a Nutshell” tour which included the Flam train. It was a very long day, but the scenery was beautiful.

Did both of those trips a year ago and agree that they were great. Also recommend the RIB tour in Stavanger. Incredible views from the water. Was able to get into some small areas that you'd never see unless you were on a boat.

Head to Vigiland Park in Oslo. The statues are so interesting and it’s a lovely setting

Make sure you take time in smaller places eg Olden to go a walk to a village to see typical life

In Olden whilst the glacier is interesting the Skylift is amazing - the only place you will see a view like this

You get a Birds Eye view of your home away from home.

Book the Flam railway directly....it's all of maybe 100 yards from the ship.  Book round trip on the same train...there is nothing to see/do at the top terminal....ignore the ships "food stop", it's a joke.....just book your own tickets and save mucho $'s.  It's hard to take a bad tour in Norway....I've done the crab lunch at the North Cape twice on different cruise lines...once by boat, once by bus....do it by boat...it's more fun.  (all you can eat king crab).

In Flåm, we skipped the train and booked a Wonders of Flåm with Velkommen Norway. This tour went beyond the Stegastein viewpoint and over a mountain, visited the quaint fjord village of Lærdal, toured the 700+ year old Borgund Stave Church, and then returned to Flåm through the world's longest road tunnel. So long it has three "rest caves" to give drivers a break!

An amazing day to visit some places that are off the beaten path and not normally visited by cruise ship passengers!
