Really? I mean they're not huge changes but what's behind them? Construction at HMC maybe?

Or did you accidently attach the wrong link? 🤔

Didn't see anything relating to WX here. I'm booed on Sunshine out of Charleston on Saturday (14 Sept) and as I live in FL, am very familiar with tropical weather patterns. It looks like the two formations heading for Grand Turk/DR right now aren't going to amount to much, but there's a new one (Tropical Depression #7 according to NOAA) which just popped up way out east, and it could be bad. That said, I've had iteneraries change before; the cruise lines don't like to jump on it too quickly, (hence the noteable silence so far on these weather systems) but they have plenty of contingency plans, the worst being simply cancelling and refunding or giving our FCCs. The best is going to a port you didn't think you'd get to go to.

Here's what Carnival has posted:

Carnival Cruise Line's Fleet Operations Center in Miami is actively monitoring Hurricane Francine.

The Port of New Orleans closed ahead of the storm and will be assessed once the storm passes. Carnival Valor’s cruise on Thursday, Sept. 12 will be delayed, with an afternoon arrival tentatively anticipated. It is possible, however, that the arrival could be further delayed.

Guests and travel advisor partners are encouraged to monitor text and email advisories about our operational plans. Guests can sign up for alerts by texting CCL1 to CRUISE (278473).

As the safety of our guests and crew is our priority, we will continue to monitor the storm, factor in guidance from the National Hurricane Center, U.S. Coast Guard and the local port authorities to provide timely updates as more information becomes available.

Have a friend on the Valor, they are getting an extra day.

Right now Valor is moving slowly still well outside the Mississippi mouth. There's no direct weather to contend with so there MAY be issues with the terminal or perhaps they are still waiting on the flood surge to recede. Any updates from official sources?

Edit: A more careful read of JH's message indicates it'll be tomorrow. Makes sense to keep her in open ocean water.

From John Heald's FB page:

Last night our Chief Communications Officer Chris and his team sent this latest update:

--------------

Dear Carnival Valor Guests,

Good news!

Port officials have cleared the ship to proceed into New Orleans for arrival early tomorrow morning, Friday, September 13, 2024. As communicated earlier, embarkation for your cruise will take place tomorrow, Friday, September 13, 2024.

Please make plans to get to the cruise terminal for check-in within your pre-selected Terminal Arrival Appointment.

All guests must be on board by 2:00 PM (CT) for departure shortly thereafter. Although our voyage plan has changed, Captain Giuseppe and the rest of the Carnival Valor team are eager to welcome you aboard for a fun and memorable weekend cruise."
