So Holland cannot seem to get it right and tell me if I need a visa to enter Indonesia and Australia when I am on the Noordam in January.  Can anyone tell me that they had to get a visa?  The travel.state.gov site seems to state that I do need it, but when I go to apply for the ETA, it says nothing about US citizens.  I'm confused!  Help please!  Thanks!!!

As a US citizen living in Australia I know you need an ETA to enter Australia.  There is an app for this, which I believe is called AustralianETA (I now have a permanent visa so I don't need to do that anymore).  I have heard that the ETA links on the Australian government website don't work and that the app is the best way to get the ETA, but you can probably get information from https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/entering-and-leaving-australia/entering-australia.

I can't address your question about Indonesia.

A news item came out this week that 20 countries are being added to the list that don't need visas to visit Indonesia. The United States is on that list so fingers crossed it becomes a reality. @jrljel, are you on the Jan. 4 cruise from Singapore? There's been much discussion on the roll call.

Carnival Luminosa is sailing from Seattle to Australia this Thursday (9/19) and Carnival is flying out a team from Miami just to help the passengers showing up without their Australia ETA.    Carnival also did this for passengers last year as well.

The following information is from the US State Dept site / International Travel
