In all my years of sailing I have only seen it once and that was in 1971 while the ship was off the coast of Viet Nam. I only saw it once in Jamaica. We are on board the Meraviglia. Lovely lunch in YC. Unpacked. We may see a show tonight buf then early to bed!

If there is such a thing I have not asked nor seen it. I know last February on Divina there was a wine list for Le Muse. I will try and ask tomorrow and if there is I’ll take a picture. I’ve just been going with the sommelier recommendations as he’s been spot on. 3 hours ago, erikb923 said: I prefer French Chardonnay, can you simply ask for something like that? Rare DaKahuna Posted Monday at 04:06 AM Author #254 Share Posted Monday at 04:06 AM Tonight was gala night. My DW started with French Onion Soup followed by the Wellness Salad and I had the Escargo followed by the lobster bisque Our sommelier, Rodin talked me into deviating from my usual Champagne / Red wine regimen and brought me a very nice Chardonnay it went very well with the snails and the bisque. For our main courses my DW had the beef tenderloin and I had the surf and turf. I had talked wiih Suzette, our waiter at breakfast and asked for rice for my wife. Rodin paired my surf and turf with a nice Bordeaux- it was delicious For her dessert my wife decided she was having only the vanilla ice cream. I splurged and went with the crepe Suzette Rodin stopped by as we were finishing our dessert and offered a dessert wine. I noamally do not partake but have a difficult time saying no to him. I am glad I listened to him. Now to put my phone down relax and listen to Bernard. p.s. @Best cat Dad we are both having an Ultimate Pina Colada. No offense but i am going back to Zacapa New Fashioned

We have talked about Meraviglia as NY is a little more convenient to DC than Miami is and flights are almost hourly from Dulles so we would risk it and fly up the morning of the cruise if we choose to do so. @JamieLogical talks about Meraviglia all the time and I am only saddened that the itineraries are not more interesting. Rare DaKahuna Posted Monday at 04:13 AM Author #256 Share Posted Monday at 04:13 AM (edited) I do not know whether to be happy or said that we were the last to leave the TSL tonight. I had this for my last drink of the night Bernard finished his last set and the other two couples in the lounge left so it was just us two. I finished my espresso martini and my wife informed me it was time to leave. I said “yes dear” and stood up and followed her out the lounge. Tomorrow is Puerto Plata where we were last Tuesday so don’t know if we will sleep in or not but I think we are both convinced it will be a shipboard day for us. Who knows, we might even visit the Spa for a little sauna — definitely not for the ‘snow room, at least for me. Snow is a four letter word in my opinion. Rare DaKahuna Posted Monday at 05:01 PM Author #257 Share Posted Monday at 05:01 PM We are still here but absolutely nothing new to report. We woke up around 0700 and made ready for breakfast. We had the same meal we have had most days so no new pictures to post. After breakfast we went to the TSL and enjoyed a couple of Holiday Coffee’s while watching the other guests leave as their tour groups were called. We stayed in the lounge until noon when we went back to the room, put our electronics away, and made ready for lunch. We are now sitting in the air conditioned comfort of the YC restaurant and about to have lunch.

You probably won’t get any photos from me. We loved the Seashore. I’m unsure about the Meraviglia over all but we love the YC. Great staff. Wonderful Concierge Raj. We had a wonderful lunch with too much Chardonnay.
Rare DaKahuna Posted Monday at 06:13 PM Author #259 Share Posted Monday at 06:13 PM We had another excellent lunch in the YC restaurant. Since @Best cat Dad is no longer aboard I decided to forgo my usual pre meal champagne and asked the assistant waiter for a Chardonnay to go with my Carsar Salad with shrimp tails. My wife went with the Wellness salad that I had last week We both went with the fish & chips and encountered our first case of ‘ketchup gate’ Turns out that unlike last week where we were served Heinz 57 every time we asked for ketchup, today it was the English Wilkins & Sons Tiptree brand. I had to ask for Heinz. Unbeknownst to my my DW prefers the sweeter English stuff. In either case both are available. I asked for a pinot noir to go with my fish & chips. This is the same pinot noir that was the default on Divina and it’s okay but not the best I’ve had on this or last werk’s cruise. For our desserts we both went simple and ordered ice cream, vanilla for the wife and pistachio for me. I came very close to asking for a second helping. We’re now relaxing on our balcony where the breeze is making it quite bearable, unlike the heat of last week.

There are some that I know that would tell you there is no such thing as ‘too much <insert wine name>’ It’s okay about the picture. They would have been wonderful but as long as you are enjoying yourself that the important thing.

Rare DaKahuna Posted Monday at 09:23 PM Author #264 Share Posted Monday at 09:23 PM (edited) The best thing about revisiting a port you were at just a week ago is that you do not feel at all guilty when you lay down and take a nice two hour nap after a great lunch. That’s two days in a row and it’s becoming habit forming. Tomorrow is San Juan, Puerto Rica and we been there multiple times before. However, I have been informed that we will be going ashore to get a souvenir t-shirt for our son in law. Rare DaKahuna Posted yesterday at 12:44 AM Author #271 Share Posted yesterday at 12:44 AM Here is the wine list for wines included in the Yacht Club Additionally there is a wine list of wines available by the bottle for an extra charge You will note that I have been served wines that are not on either list. So do not consider this all inclusive. It pays to make friends with the sommelier’s!!
